National Moonshine Day Eve

When I tell people I chose National Moonshine Day as the release date for the paperback of Whiskey and Old Stogies they say, “I never heard of such a day.” Believe it or not, you can find a celebration for any day. Like today, June 2, is National Bubba Day. Find details at the National Day Calendar website and register a national day of your own. Will have to check tomorrow but they list National Moonshine day as June 5, old info.

Nationaltoday.com lists it correctly. Over at Checkiday.com I see that National Moonshine Day did happen every June 5 until 2013 when somebody changed it to the first Thursday in June.

According to the National Day Calendar, “National Moonshine Day recognizes a beverage with a notorious record of blurring the lines of history and the law, turning ordinary men (and women) into criminals and common criminals into legends.” No wonder I like to write about the stuff.

Learn more about moonshine while enjoying a good story by purchasing a paperback copy of Whiskey and Old Stogies on Amazon or request it at your local bookstore. Or pre-order the ebook which drops on July 1 at your favorite ebook retailer

If you want to celebrate National Moonshine Day with me, as well as toasting the new book, click here to register for a Zoom happy hour at 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 3 at 5:30 pm PT.
